Starting Spring 2021, the Lehman LGBTQ+ Alliance has been renamed the Crystal Queer Club. The purpose of the club is to: (1) Recognize and establish the existing contributions of LGBTQ+ individuals in our communities and in our studies; to EDUCATE (through discussions of texts, workshops, and guest lectures) about and celebrate the lives of these peoples. (2) Spread awareness, promote acceptance, and increase the visibility of LGBTQ+ students, faculty, staff, and alumni. (3) Address challenges facing the community, such as the tragic portrayals of the LGBTQ+ community in the media. (4) Most importantly, provide a welcoming, safe space for LGBTQ+ students.
